
Badminton is played with a racket and a shuttlecock (made with a goose's feathers) inside a rectangular court. It becomes the second most popular game after football. Badminton's history was connected to ancient China, Greece, India and Japan. In 1860, some British army officers played Battledore and Shuttlecock in Poona. From there it became so popular. British returned to England with a better, more developed version of the game. There they treated the game as a guest game. In 1873, the present version of the game was first played at Badminton House, Gloucestershire, England. From there, the name of the game became Badminton.
World Federations and Olympics:
